History of the Maine Chapter of the Sons of God MC

The first two members were patched at the same time in Jan. 1999. This was Zeke and Eskimo. Eskimo was the first one to contact the Sons of God MC at a Promise Keepers event in Washington D.C. in Oct 1997. The following summer Zeke had come across the SOG web site and inquired about them. The National President at the time had contacted Eskimo and said that there was someone in Maine interested in the club. Eskimo and Zeke hooked up and found that both had a passion for the type of out reach ministry the SONS had to offer. Because of the distance to the nearest chapters from Maine (Philly and Buffalo were the closest chapters) the prospecting took a long time. But after a lot of contact and communication they were able to finally be patched.
Having to have 3 patched members we were one short of an official chapter. Everything is in Gods time and Zeke had come in contact with another individual in New Hampshire who was interested in the club. After prospecting, they now had 3 patched members and were also on the way with a fourth. Zeke had become the first Maine Chapter President, Eskimo the Vice-President, and Boreface the Sec./Treas.
We still have two of the three original members in the Chapter. Both Zeke and Eskimo and their families have been involved in home Bible studies since they first met. This is something that still goes on today.
Over the years we have had members and prospects come and go. But the core group we have now has been together for a while. We have shared a lot of joy and sorrow together, but that has only strengthened us as a body. God has truly blessed us for being able to serve with each other for His glory.
